This place is a combination of Portland's greatest wine selection (over 500+ high end labels w/ 40+ choices by the glass) and a menu that challenges the rest of this city to even come close to the quality which they achieve so well.I highly reccomend the foraged mushroom cavatelli and a glass of the 2015 Blue Eyed Boy!So delicious!
Fresh local food, great wine selection, beautiful patio, great service.
Small and overpriced. If it wasnt for the owner (very charming), I'd have walked. The first waiter was so pompous, I was put off from the get go. Skip it unless you want to impress people with how much money you are willing to spend on a dinner.
Traveled from Lad Vegas to find the Northwests best kept secret. Vinotopia's food, service, and atmosphere were beyond words. The Filet topped with the Foie was mouth watering and the mash was a perfect side. The wine selection made it easy to pair with the meal. This restaurant is a must visit each time we visit Portland.
Went twice. The first time the food experience was hit or miss, but they just couldn't be nicer about it and made amends. The second time, everything was perfectly delicious!
Great food selection
Gorgeous outdoor firepit and professional enomatic wine array.
We went there for dinner. My Trout main-dish was delicious and the homemade bread was excellent. Food quantity could be much more generous, considering the price of $32 for my main dish of pan seared small trout and carrots. Dinner does not come with bread; we paid $4 for 4 small pieces of the exceptional homemade bread. Same with the Drunken Apple dessert, delicious, slim on the quantity, and high on the price side ($11). Perhaps lunch prices are more in line with the location and similar venues?
Amazing family dinner tonight. The servers were so prompt and made us feel right at home. The candle lit restaurant was so cozy with warm classic jazz music playing in the background, candles at our table and a room that look like it was out of the golden art deco era. The short rib was braised to perfection and delicously melted on the palet. Our salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection. We had it over the Mushroom Cavatelli. The beet saled is a must with interesting hint of sweet savory smokey flavors. We all left looking forward to our next outing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Fantastic, prompt and friendly wait staff.
L.O.U.D.really.That said, waiter was super helpful despite how busy it was. The food wait was fairly long, 30 minutes for the flat bread. I had the seared scallops, they were well executed while my partner had a braised short rib. Scallops were cooked perfectly, short ribs were so so. Very extensive wine list. We skipped dessert because we could barely converse.
Only good thing about Deforestation Heights. Excellent wine, creative menu.
They have wine by the glass you can find nowhere else
Delicious tiny meals at a crazy high price, but a nice quiet place. Sarcastic customer service.
Always great food and excellent wine selection.
Fantastic wine selection. Very personable owners and excellent food. The chocolate torte was to die for and paired perfectly with the Baby Blue Eyes Shiraz we had for dinner. You also have to try the brussel sprouts, a minute of charred brussel sprouts with a Thai chili and soy sauce reduction.
They were out of several items on the menu but we were still happy with our choices. We were here for brunch and looking forward to coming back for dinner!
Amazing cuisine, impressionable service, and a welcoming atmosphere! The setting is relaxing yet lively! Especially great for intimate dinners with close ones. Every dish I’ve had is loaded with flavor and culinary creativity. Great variety and selection of wines too. Would recommend to everyone in the area to try!
Loved the setting and the very friendly staff. Limited menu, but still a nice little find.
Great place to have drinks and dinner. The outside area with fire pit was a nice extra. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
OMG so nice here~~
Great wine selection but also very good, gourmet food made with fresh, local ingredients.
Fantastic ambience and great selection of fine wine..
We went here because of the great reviews and the location. The food was excellent, our waiter was phenomenal, and the wine list was superbub. Our waiter gave us great recommendations on wine and was very excited to answer any questions we had. He even gave us complimentary dessert wine tastings after our meal. I would recommend this place to anyone!!
Outstanding customer service! Aaron is extremely knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and very personable. It was my cousin's last evening in the US before heading back to NZ. She has fallen for our Oregon wines and Vinotopia was the perfect place to leave her with fond memories of her wine tasting experiences. A lovely place to sit inside or outside and savor the wonderful food choices and exceptional wines.
A bottle of cab by the fire. Great time!
Getting four stars for the amazing wine selection. The food was not worth the price and the atmosphere has been hit or miss for me. Going for a glass or some tasting was fun. Overall this is an overpriced place that is worth it if you are looking for some quality wine selections
The ambiance of the outdoor patio is exceptional, I could have spent the entire day there! Equally exceptional was the food and the service!
The most unique wine list in PDX. A true find for a person who craves the Portland food scene. The menu and quality of ingredients are truly an experience for the pallet.
Great experience! Fantastic waiter with great info and suggestions for the meal and wine . Had a bottle of Barbera from Walla Walla and an Australian Syrah by Molly Dooker. Outstanding meals - short ribs with polenta and gravy I could eat with every meal, crabcakes with lentils and scallops.
Love the food here! It's so good!
Cozy atmosphere and delicious foods!
Super expensive food the presentation of a dish good but taste of food not tasty or good quality. I worked twenty years in restaurant line in Europe and I never seen serving salt to customers in open small bowl.
Very good collection of wines. Food is relatively good, catering to the organic and healthy living taste. Pricing a little on the higher side, but given the neighborhood seems okay.
Great little restaurant. Excellent food and very impressive wine list. Hip jazz playing in background creates urban ambience. I will definitely be back many times.
